Weekend Homework: P2

Based on what we were able to get through in class, I have changed the homework assignment for your class.

1. Find out how big the state of Massachusetts is (google "how big is Massachusetts).
2. Make sure the measurements are in KILOMETERS not mile (you can find a unit converter here)
3. Find a picture of Massachusetts (click here for a simple outline of MA)
4. Based on how big Massachusetts REALLY is... figure out the SCALE of the picture you choose.
5. Below are the REAL diameters of 3 lunar craters and 3 maria, choose ONE, and draw it on Massachusetts, using the same scale (so you can see how big the crater is vs how big MA is).

Copernicus - 93 km
Plato - 101 km
Archimedes - 32 km

Sea of Tranquility - ~600 km
Sea of Clouds - ~500 km
Ocean of Storms - ~1200 km

Have a great weekend! See you on Monday!
